Rhubarb, also known as "Barbie", is a young pittie whose unique brown fur makes the most stunning markings on her little white face. Rhubarb came to PFP as a very young puppy whose litter was part of a group of dogs that was confiscated from their owner in July of 2023. Luckily she was too young have any memories of this and has known nothing but the love of her fosters since then! Rhubarb's foster family shared that she is one of the most special dogs that they have fostered. She loves everyone she meets, but will have a special bond with her favorite people. She does something every day that makes people laugh and has the most amazing zest for life. Rhubarb is a high energy dog. She would benefit from an active family with a large yard to play with her or someone who loves to take regular walks! Rhubarb loves other dogs! She is young and still needs to learn some social cues, but overall she just wants to be friends with everyone! Rhubarb is also tolerant with cats. Rhubarb is also great with kids as long as the kids understand safe boundaries with dogs. Rhubarb is a smart cookie and knows some basic commands, and is crate trained! We require an adoption application to be completed in its entirety. Any application with questions not answered fully will not be considered complete and will not be processed.2. We check your references and process your application.3. Phone/email interview - we notify you that we have received your application and go over any areas of concern or speak to you more about the dog in which you are applying for.4. Set up a meet and greet - this can be at an adoption event, in your home or at the fosters home. 5. Pet meet and greet - we make sure your current pets and your potential new family member are a good match! If you are adopting a dog that is currently with either of our trainers, we will have you bring your dog(s) to our trainer for the meet and greet. **We will not adopt a dog into a situation we do not believe the dog can handle. The dogs are our #1 priority.6. Finalize the adoption - sign the adoption contract and pay adoption fee - we accept cash or check. Your adoption fee covers all vaccinations, fecal test, heartworm test, etc as well as spay/neuter and microchipping.
